Hilary van der Hoff is a European patent attorney specialising in patents in the field of antibody technology.
Hilary began her career in private practice where she gained experience handling patent prosecution, oppositions and appeals for a wide range of bio/pharma clients, including several therapeutic antibody companies. She was a Partner in the Life Sciences group at Mewburn Ellis LLP for 6 years, and an Attorney at international law firm Olswang LLP, before taking up the position of Director of Intellectual Property at Kymab Limited, a biopharmaceutical company developing therapeutic antibodies. Hilary also served as an Examiner for the Patent Examination Board (Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys) for the UK patent attorney qualifying examination.
Hilary has a first class degree in biochemistry from the University of Oxford. She qualified as a UK and European patent attorney in 2005. Hilary also holds an Intellectual Property Litigation Certificate allowing her to conduct litigation in the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court and certain appeal proceedings in the High Court, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
